Paranormal State
Although this might be controversial for some, I wanted to recognize a group of Penn Staters who appear on a television show titled Paranormal State.
The new season began on Monday, July 31st on the A&E channel.
About the show (taken directly from the website):
"Delve deep into the strange and the mysterious with Paranormal Research Society founder Ryan Buell and his team of investigators as they attempt to unravel inexplicable paranormal phenomena including sixth-sense experiences, ghost sightings, demonic disturbances, and brushes with the darkest areas of the unknown. Founded by Buell in 2001, the PRS works on cases across the country and is one of the most recognized paranormal societies in the nation. This season includes a Pennsylvania couple besieged by paranormal activity in their home, an aggressive poltergeist in Maryland, and a ghostly hag nicknamed the "Lady Vampire" by the Texas family she torments. Through the use of Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) recordings and video documentation, and with the help of renowned psychics, demonologists, psychologists and counselors, the PRS explores these bizarre cases in the hopes of helping frightened people who have nowhere else to turn."

Penn State Football: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports book
Hey Everyone!!
I received an email from Marc Maxwell, co-author of Penn State Football: An Interactive Guide to the World of Sports.
Here is an excerpt from his email:
"I am a grad student through PSU's World Campus. Another of our co-author's is Penn State graduate Jared Trexler.
We have decided to donate 10% of the book's profits to the THON for every book sold on our website.
The book will be sold starting in August on our SBTN website.
If we can reach just a small percentage of the PSU alumni, I think we can raise a ton of money for THON and the Penn State faithful can get a great book for themselves or a fan..."

CPT Brian Faunce Memorial Foundation – 4th Annual Golf Outing – 9/5/2008 Limekiln Golf Club, Montgomery County Pa.
I received and email from The Faunce Family asking for donations to a charity for their son Brian R. Faunce.
Brian R. Faunce "was a 1996 graduate of Penn State University. He continued a PSU-Faunce tradition, following Dad, Rich ‘ 70 and sister, Samantha ‘ 93. Brian was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He graduated PSU through the ROTC program with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. Brian entered Active Duty in the United States Army on August 10, 1996.
CPT Brian Faunce was killed in action in Iraq in September of 2003 while serving as Commander of B Company, "Bulldog", 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment"
The Faunce family created the CPT Brian Faunce Memorial Foundation. "The Foundation presents an annual Award to graduating Penn State University , Army ROTC cadets. To date the Fund has made five annual awards of $1,500 to those students. The Fund also lends financial support to the Pennsylvania Wing of the Civil Air Patrol at Hawk Mountain .
In order to continue to fund these efforts, we established an annual Golf Outing. We are about to stage our 4th Annual Golf Outing on September 5. 2008. We need your support."
The Fauce Family is in need of Hole Sponsors for $100. As a Hole Sponsor, either business or individual, a sign with your Name/Info will be placed on a Tee Box or in a prominent common area."
